2025 Recap

Once again, running along the river at the Allegheny RiverTrail Park proved to be very good for Pineapples this year. With good weather the Tropical 5K Classic once again made winners of Lending Hearts and The Stanley Marks Blood Cancer Research Fund.

The Royal Family, Princess Giavanna Dargenzio and Prince Brooks Murphy, presented teams with their pineapples and trophies to the winners. By a landslide our ‘Gold Pineapple’ award went, once again, to Team Jen’s Brigade. The team donation total was just over $4,000.

Once again our sponsors came through in a big way, notably, Subaru of South Hills, Bayer, Snyder Family, Carmeuse, Davis Foundation, Trib Live, Steel City Gynecology, MEC Management Engineering Corp., Reign 3D Training

The music was provided by Mile Post 6 who rocked the LUAU. Our good friend Kevin Smith at ChoroTrack handled the registration from a distance. Many thanks for all the energy and excitement our participants brought to this event.

We had Fun, We got Dirty and We raised money to Beat Cancer. But it’s not too late to give! Donations are still being taken. Help us reach our goal of $40,000 for this year. Please find it in your hearts to Give.

Our Volunteer Staff (Pineapple Patrol) not only kept the event on task but also did an amazing job on set-up and clean up. Everyone knows, nothing goes anywhere without the effort of a tireless Committee. From the planning, setup, registration and clean up our Committee got it done.

Many, many thanks to all… but our work is not done beating cancer.

2026 is around the corner and as everyone knows
…‘…‘Runners and Donations are always wanted’!
